About

Hi, I’m Graham.

I’m a cyclist, designer and the person behind Brash.

I’ve been riding bikes all my life. I love the engineering, the practicality and the history of Brompton bikes. And I’m fascinated by the many ways people around the world customise theirs.

Brash started as an experiment: could I create small, well-made accessories that add a bit of character without compromising the things that make these bikes great in the first place?

I design everything myself from my home in Cardiff, Wales. Most ideas begin with sketches, cardboard prototypes and a lot of trial and error. Some make it into production. Some don’t. I’m interested in the little details: how something fits, how it feels and whether it makes you smile when you see your bike parked outside a café.

The first Brash products are designed for Brompton owners because it’s a community I know well. Brompton riders already go against the grain and I think there is room for accessories that match are just as playful, distinctive and thoughtfully made.

My products are made in small batches. My mudguard flaps are printed in Kent, England, using the same polypropylene material as the original Brompton flap. My decals are usually printed in Bristol. Orders are packed by hand in Cardiff.

As for the name, the Cambridge dictionary defines “brash” as meaning “too much confidence, too little respect”. Sounds about right.
